Planning - About Us

Towamensing Township The Towamensing Township Planning Commission consists of seven (7) residents appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

The duties of the Planning Commission are as follows

  • To review and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for all submitted subdivision and land development plans and conditional use applications,
  • To review and make recommendations to the Zoning Hearing Board for variances, appeals, and special exception applications,
  • To aid in the preparation of the comprehensive plan for the development of the Township as set forth in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (PA MPC),
  • To make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on proposed amendments to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO), and
  • To make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance (ZO).

The Planning Commission holds their regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Township Building. All residents are welcome to attend.
